Mt St Helens, from Harry's Ridge Trail
Before it exploded this beautiful mountain had a perfectly-rounded ice cream cone top. This view is from the north and shows the caldera that’s left after the explosion. Below is Spirit Lake, once considered a holy place and home to many summer cabins, before the volcano. The hike is a memorial to Harry Truman, one of those who chose to stay behind in their cabin even as the explosion was imminent.
14 × 11 print is on acid-free, archival paper, printed locally in Portland.
