Junction Lake

This is the first drawing I did. More recent drawings are more, um, nuanced, but I still love the colors and simplicity of this one. And I still love this place. It really looked like this the first day we were there. It’s in the middle of Indian Heaven Wilderness near Mt. Adams in Southwest Washington, at the junction of three trails, one is the Pacific Crest Trail.

One time we were sitting enjoying our snack and started chatting with a PCT through hiker. We ended up giving her all the food we had . . . she was very appreciative!
