About Me

Always on the lookout for something beautiful.

My early love of gardening (I really love sprinklers and have a collection of some cool ones), skill at drawing, and eye for design led to my degree in Landscape Architecture. Working at my father’s printing plant taught me a love of type and letterforms and kindled a passion for the importance of the printed word, and the significance of the design behind it. I combined those passions into my career in print communication and illustration.

I work as a graphic designer, focusing on publication layout, map design, public information and marketing materials, and branding. For information about my graphic design work, visit www.christinerainsdesign.com

Getting out into the wild inspires and motivates my art. I love exploring new landscapes and navigating new trails, and using my computer skills to showcase the great outdoors with vector-based illustrations. We’re lucky that the mountains, high desert and Pacific beaches are a short drive away.

Other Stuff

I have a huge collection of reindeer that I bring out for winter decorations, see some here:

No day is complete for me without cheese and crackers.

I’ve paddled on a Rose Festival dragon boat for 24 years. That’s our team in the lime green shirts, winning this race.

By far my greatest accomplishment is raising two wonderfully creative, kind, and interesting kids.
